While the shovel will always have its place in the excavating business, the Vac-N-Dig Excavator can dig a typical pothole in an average time of 7-8 minutes in all soil conditions-even rocky Black Hills dirt. (Try that with a shovel!) In addition, the Vac-N-Dig providesMvc003s.jpg greater safety against accidentally striking a fiber optic cable, gas pipeline, electric powerline, or water main that can happen with a backhoe, pick or shovel. With its nondestructive, soft-touch dig, suck-and-seek method of potholing, the Dig-Right Excavator virtually eliminates these costs and delays, increasing profitablility for everyone involved.

Fiber Blowing

John and Kay Duffield of Duffield Construction are pictured here with their new Rapid Fiber kayandjohn2.jpgDeployment Truck or RFDT. This Sherman & Reilly truck is a vehicle with a dedicated design for installing cables at intermediate locations. The RFDT, along with the super-jet, makes the most efficient use of manpower and equipment every scenario in today’s competitive fiber optic cable placing market. the RFGT may be used for short runs of 500 feet to 6000 feet on average, or as the lead unit for multiple unite or cascading operations to install lengths or 10,000 feet. In fact, John says Duffield Construction has installed 12,700 feet of cable in one shot and that they can even piggyback cable in existing ducts.
